Austin Family Classical Concerts is a concert series featuring local professional classical musicians performing some of their favorite music together.
AFCC events are open to everyone, including children of all ages. In fact, it is the perfect first classical music concert experience for young children and babies! We will provide a quiet activity for those who may need something to keep hands busy, and will go over concert etiquette for the very young at the beginning of the concert. Concert-goers are always welcome to come up to the stage at the end of the concert to talk with the musicians and see the instruments up close.
The AFCC series was created by the musician/mother of a very squirmy, not-very-quiet boy, who wanted to bring her son to concerts without the fear of disrupting the performers and audience. These concerts are designed to give parents a place to "train" their kids to attend classical performances, in a non-judgmental environment.
